Dental and paranasal sinus surgery is commonly performed in equine practice. The high levels of contamination and the complexity of the regional anatomy result in a frequency of complications which is higher than for other surgical procedures. Careful preoperative imaging, and a high level technical of expertise, in combination with appropriate instrumentation, can help to reduce the incidence of complications.
